Code of Conduct

 

Ingram Content Group is committed to providing a friendly, safe, and inclusive space for all, regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, age, race, nationality, ethnicity, disability, medical conditions, religion, physical appearance, politics or ideology. Our code of conduct is here to provide a clear set of guidelines lines to everyone who participates in #TheLibraryLife: Link & Learn.
 
 
We invite all attendees, speakers, staff, and other participants to help us realize a safe and positive conference experience for everyone by abiding by this Code of Conduct throughout #TheLibraryLife: Link & Learn virtual conference, including the post-conference archive, as well as in all one-on-one communications within the platform.
 
All determinations of appropriate or inappropriate behavior are in Ingram’s sole discretion and the decision of Ingram’s representatives will be final.
 
 
Be kind and respectful
We ask that all attendees, speakers, associates and other guests behave respectfully.  Be kind to others.  Do not insult or put down other attendees.  Refrain from demeaning, discriminatory or harassing behavior and speech. 
 
 
If you are asked, whether by an Ingram associate or another attendee, to stop your behavior, you are expected to do so immediately and respectfully.
 
 
Unacceptable Behaviors include
  • Harassment - including (but not limited to) deliberate intimidation, stalking, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
  • Discrimination - unjust or prejudicial treatment of different categories of people; behaviors based on bigotry or implicit biases against a particular group.
  • Making generalizations or reinforcing stereotypes about people who are different from you.
  • Personal attacks or offensive verbal comments.
  • Violence, threats of violence, or violent language directed against another person.
  • Sexist, racist, homophobic, transphobic, ableist, or otherwise discriminatory jokes and language.
  • Inappropriate photography or recording.
  • Sustained disruption of conference events, including talks and presentations.
  • Spamming, scraping emails, or blasting other attendees with unsolicited pitches.
 
Speak out, own up, get help
We believe peer to peer discussions, feedback, corrections can help build a stronger, safer, and more welcoming community.
 
If you see someone behaving disrespectfully, and you feel safe and comfortable doing so, you are encouraged to respectfully discourage them from such behavior.  If you do not feel safe, comfortable, or otherwise able to respond and resolve it respectfully, please bring it to the attention of an Ingram associate, using the chat feature on the virtual platform, or at event.help@ingramcontent.com as soon as possible.
 
 
Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behavior will not be tolerated. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately.
We take all concerns seriously.  If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, Ingram staff may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from the conference without warning.

This policy is based on several other policies, including Inbound 2021 Code of Conduct, Google events anti-harassment policy, Society for Technical Communication Code of Conduct, and QuiltCon Community Guidelines.
